WFF44 Overview On Bermuda

Bermuda is located in the center of the Atlantic, at 6.5 hours of summer from England, 1046 km east of North Carolina. The archipelago consists of 180 coral islands and tiny islets, most of which are uninhabited. The main island of the archipelago is Bermuda. The climate of the islands is subtropical, season 2 – spring and summer, or “Golf and Spa” and “Beach and heat”, as the locals say. The temperature range is from +19 to +28 degrees C, which makes it possible to rest throughout the year. The rainiest months are from the end of June to October.

Bermuda beaches are famous for their unique pink sand, very rare in nature. It can be found on the island of Bermuda, on a stretch of coast between the gulf of Warwick-Long and Horseshoe Bay. Beaches – both public and private, owned by hotels. Public beaches are closed in the dark.

On the miles of the unique beauty of the coast are a variety of hotels – from traditional and intricate houses to modern buildings of luxury deluxe hotels. They are suitable for all categories of holidaymakers, including those who would like to take a course of SPA procedures. Or do active recreation – tennis and golf (8 fields), horseback riding, rugby and cricket, diving and snorkeling, kayaking and yachting.

There are plenty of places to explore on the islands – crystal caves, botanical gardens, and 365 places near the shores for diving to sunken ships. Until now, lucky treasure hunters find on the seabed the treasures of British merchant ships and Spanish galleons. Add also a 120-kilometer grandiose ridge of coastal coral colonies, among dense sea grass, in clean coastal waters, which creates ideal conditions for the dwelling of a variety of marine animals.

In Bermuda, there are about 350 species of birds: Bermuda petrels – one of the rarest seabirds, blue-blue oatmeal, blue herons, arctic plovers, cascades. Due to the mild climate of the island all year round are covered with lush tropical vegetation – everywhere you will meet oleanders, bougainvilleas, lilies, red, yellow and white hibiscus flowers, yellow-pappus Bermudians. This island paradise!

The capital of the island – Hamilton – is dynamic and cosmopolitan, with a casual and cheerful charm. The main attractions of Hamilton: Bermuda Cathedral (neo-Gothic), Bermuda Historical Public Museum, which contains an exhibition of the era of the Great Geographical Discoveries and objects raised from the seabed, the Bermuda National Gallery containing the works of Thomas Gainsborough, Joshua Reynolds and Winslow Homer.

The city of St. George, declared by UNESCO “The Property of Mankind”, its architecture reproduces the events and attributes of bygone days. Especially, the Royal Square, on which the city’s Town Hall of the 18th century is located, with a “shameful pillar”, once serving as a punishment site for criminals. Of interest are the Old State Residence in 1620, the Bermuda National Trust Museum, the Royal Naval Shipyard Bermuda with the old Fort. Later, the buildings were repaired, and the fort received a “second life”. It now houses the Bermuda Maritime Museum, a traditional pub, a cinema, a craft market and Snorkeling Park, one of the best diving centers in Bermuda.

Friendly and hospitable inhabitants of the islands are proud of their historical heritage, uniting many cultures. Traditional shorts-Bermuda here are worn with dignity, and a plate with a thick fish soup with seafood and a cocktail with rum is always available. On the islands there are more than 150 restaurants: from exquisite, gastronomic to quite democratic, where besides the fine cuisine you are always guaranteed a warm welcome and the most friendly smiles.
